Ron / Mitch,
Based on our discussions last week I put together this proforma. The top section assumes a full-time addition and the bottom section is a part-time addition.
For the full-time hire I assumed a base salary of $150,000 plus 40% of collections over $400,000. For the part-time addition, I assumed a base salary of $60,000 plus 40% of collections over $150,000. Please look it over and let me know if there are other changes/assumptions you would like me to make. This is really just a start for purposes of discussion. Also, let me know if you would like me to share this with Missy. I have not involved her to this point.

“175 WAYS TO LOVE CHICAGO”
35 notable Chicagoans share their five favorite things about the city to celebrate
Chicago’s 175th birthday
CHICAGO (www.twitter.com/techaccesstv ) – In anticipation of the City of Chicago’s 175th birthday, the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture is asking 35 notable Chicagoans to share their unique perspectives on what they love most about the city, then posting them on ExploreChicago.org, the City of Chicago’s Official Tourism Site, beginning January 16. For 35 days leading up to the City’s March 4 birthday, “175 Ways to Love Chicago” will provide an engaging forum for locals to honor their city by sharing five personal insights about what makes them proud to be a Chicagoan.
From musician Jon Langford’s intriguing recommendations on “How to Listen to Chicago” to a Lincoln Park Zoo biologist’s favorite ways to experience nature, a broad range of Chicagoans including media personalities, artists, chefs, a dancer, a window washer and many others are contributing a list of favorites related to their area of expertise. Even the Picasso sculpture weighs in on its favorite public artworks.
“175 Ways to Love Chicago is a great way to get people excited about Chicago’s 175th birthday and a wonderful resource for both visitors and residents,” said Dorothy Coyle, Executive Director, Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture. “It celebrates the city’s rich cultural diversity and its most important asset – its people – by providing a forum for them to share their own personal insights about what makes Chicago one of the greatest cities in the world.”
Each weekday for 35 days, one Chicagoan’s list of five favorites will be featured on the ExploreChicago blog, which can be found on ExploreChicago.org. Once all 35 lists are posted, “175 Ways to Love Chicago” will provide a unique body of content that will live on through ExploreChicago.org to inspire millions of visitors and residents.
“175 Ways to Love Chicago” promotes the upcoming 175th birthday of the City of Chicago. Then, beginning March 4, enjoy “175 Days to Love Chicago”. More details will be announced soon.

Scott Kleinberg holds a master’s in journalism and communications and more than 15 years of professional experience as a top writer, editor and communicator. He crafts amazing copy, whether it’s thousands of words or 140 characters. After 6 years at RedEye, 3 of those in charge of conceptualizing, developing and maintaining the entire social media campaign for the paper, he moved over to the Chicago Tribune to work as a social media specialist. From tweeting and Facebooking live events and breaking news stories via social media to training and writing documentation for the company, it all falls to the social media department.
Peter Hanson is a managing partner at Astor Capital Management. Astor Capital is an Alternative Investment Manager and is registered with the CFTC as a CTA. Investment focus includes Managed Currency and Equity Index Futures programs. Prior to ABN AMRO, Peter was a Managing Director and head of middle market client coverage for the Global Derivatives Products Group.
Sarah Carter joined the workforce at age 17 as a taxi driver and remembers her roots well, so you can expect an interesting tour through the ins and outs of Social Networking and Web 2.0. Anecdotes and customer stories are of course inevitable (and gratuities are expected). It took a stint with IBM, a software developer in Canada before she moved to the UK IT security market some (ahem) 12 years ago, where she joined the management team of a UK security integrator, floated the company on AIM, acquired others and then sold it. Having spent four years working with Actiance (formerly FaceTime Communications) customers and partners throughout Europe and Asia, Carter recently relocated to HQ in California. Carter works with Actiance financial services clients on best practice social media and collaboration strategies in both Europe and the USA and regularly speaks on the topic on both continents.
Susan M. Chamberlain heads Foreside’s Chicago office and oversees the delivery of compliance services within the greater Chicago area. With 30 years experience in the investment management industry, Chamberlain serves as Chief Compliance Officer to a Chicago investment adviser. Previously she was chief operating officer and chief compliance officer at Quantlab Capital Management, Ltd., a registered investment advisor managing private and proprietary funds in Houston, and was chief operating officer at Columbine Capital Services, Inc., a company providing independent, quantitative research to the institutional investment community. At Columbine Capital, Chamberlain was responsible for the start-up of a market-neutral hedge fund as well as for the ongoing compliance, administrative and business operations of the firm.

May here. Look at Jeff Willinger’s bio above. It seems to be an exercise in hyperbole and self-aggrandizement to me — and a few others I know. Jeff told me he did not write it and he said he does not know anything about it. One of the other panelists, Sarah Carter, was a cab driver at age 17, so maybe the whole thing is intended to be tongue in cheek, but Jeff, I find it hard to believe that you had no role in this over the top and may I add lengthy bio.
My evidence is that the language of the bio here is remarkably similar to Jeff’s own Twitter description.

As I told Jeff on the phone Sunday night, “Jeff you may have been selling Bar Mitzvah napkins a few years ago and now you’ve carved a niche for yourself in social media, which is great, but don’t overdo it. I’ll kiss your a** when 60 Minutes does a profile of you as they just did on Andrew Masdon .”
He also confirmed that he recently had lunch with Gary Slack to discuss Right Point business.
When I asked him how he can be lunching with Slack when Lundin and I are his friends. His response was good: “Lundin and you are not my friends,” he said, followed by a self congratulatory “That was a good one.”
