The May Report: 11/1/2011: A gossip filled article in Business Insider gives a very slanted view of behind the scenes machinations at Groupon — things like Margo Georgiadis was boxed out by the Samwer brothers — and that it’s really a small firm once you get past the huge sales force, and they won’t hire another COO; lots of good Eric and Andrew gossip along with the German invasion; but my issue is ‘Why this article and why now?’, just days before the scheduled IPO and despite His Highness Blodget’s criticisms of Groupon (my view is that they’re a smokescreen), he is still selling stock even though he’s legally barred from doing so; the suspect motives of Jim Cramer who slams the IPO, even shreds it ,but then tells his viewers “you’d be a fool not to try to get dome shares in this deal and take advantage of it.”– this contradictory advice is not accidental; Chicago’s Phat Phoney, Jeff “jwillie” Willinger and a gaggle of reinvented wannabees on runway Wednesday at the Geek 2 Chic fashion show at Bloomingdales
