Update on Mike Rhodes, by Ron May

* Rachel, Mike’s daughter, whom Melanie tells me has been a big help to him in business, just called at 4pm.

Mike was taken to the ER on Sunday, clutching his stomach and bending over in severe pain. He appears to have an ulcer.

Rachel says her dad has been given some medications and has been ordered to stay in bed.

But, workaholic as he is — can you believe this? — Mike wants to go back into the office on Friday!!

Anyone who has spent even a little time at The Syncubator knows that Mike is there every week night and always working.

Melanie told me she might join him if he does, but his family is trying to dissuade him from going in.

Even so, Rachel said that Mike is worried that he has lost a week of work and he definitely wants to return on Monday.

Mike, I’m glad this was not a heart attack, but it was and is a message. We just hope you hear it.

I asked Rachel if her dad had bleeding and she said she did not know. She also does not know specifically what meds he has been put on.

Rachel is modest too. She said that her sister Christina who has been competing on American Idol (I believe) has all the talent in the family.

So, I don’t know why Hinsdale Hospital told me he was there and had been discharged except that Michael Rhodes is a common name.

And I did call Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, but he was probably discharged already.

And Mike, we won’t get into this today, but that little habit you have that starts with an “s” and ends with a “g” and has an mokin in the middle has to stop, but Rachel told me that you’re not a quitter. We’ll talk.

I know it is hard to do, but Mike, you are going to have to slow down a bit.
